Common Knowledge

Originally from the slums of Pearl Lane, Jaydin has always been disdainful of those who have and lord their privilege over others. More so after her parents passed away due to illnesses that could not be taken care of due to a lack of gil to their names. Taken in by a group of misfits that called themselves Thanalan's Bricks, Jaydin attached herself to a miqo'te who seemed to take a shine to her just as much, named F'nime Mhox.

Growing up and training to be just as deft of hand as foot, Jaydin covertly champions her cause with her Starry Knights. With her aim to aid those in need of it from the shadows, Jaydin does what she can to keep her Knights safely sheltered at the Garden, where the business provides a front as a restaurant and entertainment venue.

History

Early Life

Born in the Jewel of the Desert, Jaydin was birthed to two residents of Pearl Lane. Her father worked various laborious jobs while her mother seldom got customers that wanted tailor repairs to their clothing. Despite this, they did what they could to enrich Jaydin's life as much as possible.

In Jaydin's ninth summer, her parents fell ill, one after the other. First was her father, his body having had enough of the stress it near constantly went through. Shortly was her mother, who also fell victim to the illness as her stress and fatigue levels rose being the only one who could take care of everything. During this time, Jaydin's mother took care time to teach her how to use a thread and needle, and was patient about teaching Jaydin how to cook what little they had in their larder.

Desperate to help her parents, Jaydin took to Sapphire Avenue with what little gil that had been scrimped, scrounged, salvaged, found, and saved, and she did her best to buy food and even medicine. However, medicine never came cheap, and she could never afford it. This is when she eventually gathered the courage to try her hand at stealing items that she felt her parents could use and benefit from.

Unfortunately for Jaydin, her first attempt at stealing from a stall led to the merchant catching her and threatening to throw her and her family into the iron mines to pay back the offense. This is when a young miqo'te woman stepped in and swiftly apologized for Jaydin's actions, citing her as a child of a family friend while paying the merchant back for any troubles. At the time, Jaydin was too stunned to protest, and she was led away to a safer location before the miqo'te woman urged her to go back home.

Jaydin broke down into sobs, revealing to this random miqo'te woman about her family. Feeling for Jaydin, the miqo'te sighed and then introduced herself as F'nime Mhox. She then proposed to Jaydin that if she was interested, F'nime would help teach Jaydin how to properly become deft of hand and foot to avoid such blunders in the future. Additionally, F'nime also offered to help out with her family troubles in any way she could, not being able to stomach seeing one so young having to resort to her ways of living. Jaydin accepted F'nime's proposal, the fact that it could aid her family driving her decision.

Thanalan's Bricks

Becoming part of F'nime's crowd meant Jaydin often told her parents she was going to see what she could do in order to earn just whatever gil she could scrape up. Though her little fibs were not entirely inaccurate, part of Jaydin did feel a little bad the older she got. She convinced herself, however, that ot was all necessary.

Working with and training under F'nime meant that Jaydin got plenty of opportunities to learn how to fend for herself as well as take what she needed. It was among Thanalan's Bricks that Jaydin steeled her resolve against those who were corrupt with money and power, because if they used that money and power to better themselves rather than the people below them, then they were undeserving of such boons.
