Akira Kirxaa, Warrior of Light and reincarnation of Azem, is a standoffish and closed off woman. She treats all strangers with a measure of suspicion born of the many times trusting the wrong man or woman burned her. She also guards her heart closely, having loved and lost enough to be waring of trusting it with many. Once she does love, though, she would fight even the gods to protect them.

Akira's earliest memory is of the calamity, when Dalamud fell and Bahamut laid waste to Carteneaux and the effects changed Eorzea forever. Akira, along with a handful of adventurer friends of hers, had decided to fight as well, but most of her companions fell in the battle, and protecting the last, Akira took a hit nearly head on from the dragon. The massive blast of aether wiped her memories of anything before, including her name, where she lived…and the fact that she was not the hyur she appeared to be. Oblivious to all of these things, she eventually made her way to Ul'dah.

Once there, Akira made her way to the Adventurer's guild, still unnamed. While there, Momodi helped her choose a new name to use to sign up for the guild. The proprietress had suggested Akira as a name she'd heard from a traveler that had stopped in one day, and said it 'just fit her'. Akira accepted that and continued on, pursuing the black magical arts.

Along the way, through her adventures fighting primals and running errands, she of course became close with the scions, the sultana of Ul'dah Nanamo, and several adventurers she met along the way. She also began to nurse a crush on the handsome commander of Camp Dragonhead, Haurchefant Greystone.

But all was not well as she felled primal after primal. During a celebration banquet, during which Nanamo planned to reveal her intention to step down from the throne, not only was her dear friend Nanamo seemingly assassinated before her eyes, a powerful magic broke the enchantment on her, revealing that the hyur she believed herself to be was actually an Au Ra. Not only did she have to struggle to accept this, but in the ensuing chaos she was separated from her adventuring friends and the Scions. Together with Alphinaud and Tataru, she fled to Camp Dragonhead, to the only person she could be sure was still trustworthy.

Of course Haurchefant was willing to help, and didn't shy away from Akira's new appearance. He took the three to shelter in Ishgard, with his family, who Akira came to care for as if they were hers. She also chose to take up the mantle of the Dark Knight, determined to never let someone else fall protecting her again. As they sought to clear their names, Akira and her companions uncovered a long standing plot by the Heavensward that was the root of the war against the dragons. However, when trying to capture the Archbishop at the top of the Vault, Haurchefant was struck down. Akira was far beyond broken hearted, and hunted the Heavensward with a single minded pursuit of vengeance.

Hythlodaeus and Hades return from the Lifestream to see Akira safely back to the Ragnarok. However, by the time it's assured that Akira will live, it's far too late for them to go back to their rest. Now they must navigate learning how to live in the Sundered world, and their feelings for the Warrior of Light.

When Hythlodaeus and Hades decide to stay with the living, Akira is unwilling to compromise between her current relationship with G'raha and this new relationship with them. None of them begrudge her desire, but unfortunately there is a tension between G'raha and Hades that is not so easily navigated. On top of it, Akira's daughter Stella is more than happy to have more people in her life, too young to understand why her father seems so unwilling to trust one of them.

The quintessential Haurchefant Lives AU, Haurchefant survives the Vault but with grievous injuries that ensure his early retirement from knighthood. Akira, having been terrified by his near death, confesses her feelings to him. It turns out he returns her feelings despite her fears, and Akira now has to balance being the savior of so many with having a life of her own.
