Ultimately she like the trade enough to become one when she grows up.

In the year 1570, she started to date a man name Gritort Lienois. Gritort, was a member of the Archer's Guild with hopes to join the God's Quiver. In 1572, the seventh umbral calamity happened. In the aftermath, Iris started to get severe headaches resulting in Gritort Breaking up from the relationship due to how much work it would be to take care of her. Meeting the Scions [The Girl From Gridania]

Five years after the Umbral Calamity, Iris continue her life as a seamstress despite having to deal with her new health issues. One faithful day, when she was asked to pick up an order of wool for her mother. As she approached the shop, an earthquake came through and made her drop the coins into the river as she dealt with another headache from her condition.

Once she regain control and now gilless and wooless, she found herself in the Caroline's Canopy with her brother. After hearing her plight, he offered to pay for the wool but Iris refused. With little recourse she took up to completing a task for the Conjurer's guild to make up for the gil with her brother's help. The task took them both the life stump where they found that an Ixal Sword was stuck in it. As she was about to pull the sword out, a Lalafell and an Hyur appeared to them. As they talked, a group of seedkin attacked the four.

Once they have been defeated, another earthquake came through the area. With the earthquake, Iris had another Headache. However, this time it came with visions, one of her hearing the Mother Crystal. Once she awaken, the two that met her and her brother there introduce themselves and Papalymo and Yda. As they looked onto Iris, they mentioned that her condition may have been due to a surfeit of aether. Before she can get more information, the adventurers left. Ephault, with genuine concern, told Iris to get the wool with the gil they made on their small adventure and to go home to rest.

Displeased without getting the answer she seeks, she sneaks out of home at night to find the adventurers. After some investigating she found them in Spirithold. As she was about to ask her questions a Golem was about to attack her. Fortunately Papalymo and Yda were near by and were able to knock it out with too much fuss. Victory was short lived as the two left before hearing her out. Annoyed, she takes a break in Bentbranch before heading back home. On her way she ran into a shadowy figure, who then teleported her to the Guardian Tree. Once she got her bearing, she realized that the Ixals were about to summon Gaurda at the tree. Once again, Papalymo and Yda came to fight them off. Once they were gone, Iris tried once again to get information from them only to find them gone and the God's Quiver finding her there.

In the custody of the God's Quiver's lieutenant Gritort Lienois, who had harassed her through his interrogation. Thankful that her brother told him to stand down as he had news for her. With Gritort's leave, Ephault let in the Elder Seedseer, Kan-e-Senna. Kan-e wanted to see Iris as she wanted her to be the Emissary for the Greenbliss. While shocked she understood that it was a huge honor and accepted it.

On the day of the Greenbliss, the ceremony went as plan. However, she recieved another vision, this time being of Kan-e-Senna's past at the battle of Carteneau. She had found herself in her bed as it turned out she had passed out at the ceremony. On the orders of her father she was to stay in her bed to rest. Later in the evening, she heard her parents and Kan-e-Senna talking about her being an envoy for Gridania to deliver a missive to Limsa and Ul'dah. With her acceptance, she headed out a few days later.

Once her task was done in Ul'dah, she had explored the city before heading back to Gridania. In her time there she got kidnapped by fanatically cultist for Ifrit. Her kidnapping was meant as a scarfice to their lord. With their lord summoned and turn all there to tempered beings to his will, he was quite shocked that Iris wasn't turned. She wasn't quite sure how she avoid such a fate but she couldn't think on it as there is currently a primal in front of her. Luck would have that rogue named Thancred was near by to help her fight off the primal. Upon it's defeat, Iris had passed out.

Upon waking up at the Waking Sands, she was greeted by Taturu and Minfillia. She was informed that she had a thing called the echo and that it was the reason why she was having her headaches and visions. For giving her this information they had requested for her to join up with the Scions as her ability is something they needed. After some thought she ended up joining.

Coerthas

After aiding the Scions with the Slyphs, Iris received a message from her father to help him heal those with Creeping Death in Fallgourd Float and to insure that more cases didn't spread. As her father worked to heal those affected, he requested Iris to look around to make sure any hunter or gatherer weren't also affected. As she traveled north she ended up finding a man passed out on the path.

Worried, she healed him up a bit. Once the man regained consciousness, he looked over Iris before revealing an eye from his pocket as it generated a lot of aether. The reaction told him all he needed to know about Iris. He ended taking her away from where they stood. Once they were hidden away at his base she asked him what he wants with her. Before he spoke a word to her, he threw a spear in front of her and demanded that sparred with him.

Uncertain what to do, Iris reached out to the spear only to be interrupted by two men, one was a silver haired elezen and the other was older looking Hyur. the two had come to rescue Iris from the man that just kidnapped her. They fought him off, while escorting her to Camp Dragonhead.

Once there, her two savors introduce themselves as Haurchefant and Alberic. while they make sure that her wounds weren't grievous and to find out more about why she was kidnapped. After she explain about the eye, Alberic realizing that Iris is another Azure Dragoon. He went on to explain the role that the Azure Dragoon has for Ishgard and that the man who kidnapped her was the current Azure Dragoon. He begged her help them as one.

Shocked, she wasn't about to take up the lance or to get involved with their war. She thanked Alberic for saving her and started to head back to to her father. On her way out, she thanked Haurchefant and informed her that Lord Francel de Haillenarte should be able to get her a carriage to Fallground Float. Luckily for her, he was just outside of the barrack that they were in.

She met with the Lord and ask him if she could hitch a ride on the carriage back to the shroud. Francel agreed to as he was shipping off items to the shroud. The cart took a break at the First Dicasterial Observatorium of Aetherial and Astrological Phenomena. As she was stretching, she found her father there looking for her. He thanked Lord Francel for helping the two to be back together. Francel, grateful that the two found each other offered her father to continue to take them to the Black Shroud.

As the three talked over casual pleasantries, the knights at the Observatorium found items of heresy among the items that Francel was shipping. The knights arrested Francel for heresy. Aucheux, stressed out that the son for his former employer is now on trial, asked Iris to help him save Francel.

Iris agreed, and lead her father back to Camp Dragonhead. She mentioned to Haurchefant the situation that Francel is in and that she and her father want to save him from his fate. Haurchefant, displeased with the turn of events wanted to help out. However, with two healers they might not be able to save him. Haurchefant begged Iris to try to take up the lance once more. Knowing more about her father's past and how many have suffered with the war, Iris agreed to train as a dragoon. As she trained with Alberic, Hauchefant and Aucheux tried to find more information about Francel's trial.

Word from the Inquistior came down about Francel's trial. The group had their suspensions as it was deemed that he was guilty. Iris, displeased with this information headed off to Whitebrim to speak with the him there to figure out why. On her way there, she was confronted by Estinien. Seeing that she was a dragoon, he came to challenge her. She proceeded to ignore him as she had more pressing matter. It was until he attacked her that she fought back. She was able to fight him off before he fled once more and headed to Whitebrim.

Upon arriving she met up with Drillemont, lord of the garrison. She tried to get information from him to know where the inquisitor was. However, he was closed lipped and focused on the issue with Stone Vigil. After learning more, she called Haurchefant and the gang to come help her clear it out in hopes to get more information. She promised Drillemont that they will clear it out in exchange for the inquisitor's location.

Once the Stone Vigil was cleared, Drillemont up held his end of the deal and told the group that the last he saw the inquisitor was just east of Whitebrim a few days before Francel's arrest. The group without too many leads at this point went to check. When they arrived, they split up to see If they can find any clues of their inquisitor. Iris got near a large canyon that she had come to know Corethas for and promptly got knocked down it. She was able to fight off the voidsent that came to attack her. Once the threat was gone she looked for a way to get out. As she explored, she found a dead body that looked like the inquisitor that they were looking for.

She took the corpse up with her as she exited the canyon. She called everyone over to help show the body to Drillemont. Once Drillemont saw the body, he worried that Francel was falsely accused of the charges. He then told them to hurry back to Camp Dragonhead and head to Witch Drop as he had the feeling that the punishment was about to be executed.

Right that he was, the group came in the nick of time and was able to save Francel from his fate. Once freed, he thanked the group for believing in his innocence. haurchefant was also thankful for Iris in her part in all of this. As a gift, he gave her a handkerchief. Their celebration was cut short as Alphinaud came to Camp Dragonhead to tell Iris the fate of the Waking Sands.

Shocked, she wanted to help him find where Minfilla and the rest of the Scions were at. She said goodbye to her father as he headed back to Gridania. Before she could go look, Alberic wanted her to settle a matter with Estinien. He felt that she was ready to don the Drachen Armor that was the right of every Azure Dragoon before her and to recclaim the Eye of Nidhogg. She agreed with him to take on the trials before her. She passed all of them and was granted the right to wear the armor.

The only thing left to do was to challenge Estinien. It was lucky for her as Estinien sent a challenge to her to duel at The Steel Vigil. She met him there. The spar that followed was intense and those who witness it were shocked that such power could come from a woman like Iris. The eye was returned to Ishgard and both Iris and Alphinaud went on their search for the missing Scions.

Betrayal

After the events of the Crystal Tower, Iris returned to the Scions at their new headquarters in Mor Dhona. She sought out Minfilla to find out what her next mission was. Minfilla informed her that Ishgard had called for her to help not only as a Scion but as an Azure Dragoon. Her mission was simple, Help Ishgard track down Lady Iceheart and keep an eye on Lake Silvertear. Upon her help, they hoped that Ishgard would rejoin the Eorzea Alliance to help in the fight against Garlemald. Their meeting was interrupted by Alphinuad Who joined in to inform Iris that she would have the support of the Crystal Braves.

Iris, in her confusion asked who were the Crystal Braves. Alphinaud told her his grand plan on how to reunite the city states and how the the Braves were there to help bring them all together. With the mission, it would be good for them to help rejoin Ishgard to the alliance. Iris was reluctant but decided to trust Minfilla and Alphinuad on the matter.

The two headed to Camp Dragonhead, where they were to meet with Ser Aymeric, who was to give them more details on what Ishgard needed from them. They arrived to be greeted by Haurchefant. He Directed the two to the hall to wait for Ser Aymeric.

Aymeric came to meet the two scions. While Alphinaud gave the lord the run down and what the Crystal Braves needed to succeed. Aymeric could only give them minimum support from Ishgard and at least the support of one Azure Dragoon named Estinien. Iris understood the position that he was in but Alphinaud disliked it.

Iris took the young elezen aside to tell him that he needs to trust in Lord Aymeric's decision. The events of taking down Lady Iceheart and Vishap went as plan, albeit, it only made Alphinaud's head and ego grew. Iris, knowing that she could not continue working with someone like Alphinaud, planned on leaving the Scions. After discussing the matter with Arenvald and Tataru to set her mind straight. She planned to talked to Minfillia to formally resign after the celebration in Ul'dah of her victory. Upon the events of the Banquet, both her and Alphinaud were able to escaped to Dragonhead Camp.
