Ryune is easy to approach but exceedingly straightforward. She is Pansexual and open to multiple sexual partners, but her heart rests most assuredly with M'naago. Her way with animals and people has led to a few 'adoptions' including Vic the Sparrow and Statice. She regularly visits with orphans both of Gyr Abania and Dravania to offer support and her self as a role model.

Ryune went from her birthplace with the M Tribe in Gyr Abania to Little Ala Mhigo shortly after the Garlean invasion of the region which had taken all but her Father from her. From there, after an altercation which led to a death, she fled South to the desert, where she was picked up and adopted into the U Tribe. After the Calamity she would follow in her late father's footsteps, who had perished at sea, and become an adventurer herself.

Ryune's unstable upbringing led to a lack of emotional connection with others, in that she would not seek them out for fear of then losing them. This persisted through most all of this era, but began to thaw toward the Scions after a time. Her fears were unfortunately realized during their flight from Ul'dah where she believed most of those she had come to care for had been taken away, just like they always seemed to be.

The Dragonsong War smelled off from the start. Not only was the society she found herself in seemingly blindly following their forebears, but they refused to even try entertaining the thought that they might be wrong. Thankfully her strength would see her through the machinations of the Holy See, and bring about its downfall. Its during this time that she would often need to find relief for the frustrations, and after getting Thancred back into the fold, found he would do quite well for the purpose.

Reclaiming her homeland was an emotional affair. Often would she find herself gazing at ruins, imagining what she knew once stood as a testament to her peoples' culture. It would be here she would meet M'naago, and the first sparks of love would ignite. Traveling to the far east also would grant her new perspective, finding herself more and more accepting of others she would come across in her travels no matter who they might be.

The one-by-one taking of her allies to the First was a mental ordeal she was not prepared for. Again she felt she had let her guard down to let people in only for the same thing to keep happening, at least until she herself was finally taken across. It was immense relief that she reunited with her comrades, though the time Thancred had been away had most assuredly changed him, and no longer did they pursue one another for fun. Ryune had known that light was only one aspect of what made for a balanced world, and harbored no illusions about it being good or dark being bad, only that they needed to be in accord. These were simple teachings from when she was younger that she truly hadn't payed as much attention to as she should have, but now they made it easy to accept that in this world she would play the role of Warrior of Darkness. Learning so much about the Ancients only served to make her feel sorry for them, but there was no way she would let Emet Selch follow through with his plans, and, though she didn't relish it, she would defeat him.

There had been barely any time to properly rest before the End of Days was upon them all. No time to be with M'naago or properly prepare, only a frantic putting out of fires across Eorzea and beyond. Upon traveling to Elpis, Ryune felt a true understanding of Emet's pain, and understood why the Ascians had fought so hard against her. In truth, she wondered if she might have done the same, unlike Azem and Hydaelyn, though she understood and accepted she herself was a shard of Azem. A fate of their own making, though they didn't know it, and one she herself had witnessed. Her hatred for the Ascians and Garleans alike melted away during this time, replaced mostly with pity. It would be a while before she would trust the Garleans as a whole, but she would do what she could for individuals who managed to not call her a Savage upon first meeting.

Ryune was more interested in exploring Tural more than anything else, and the succession problem was a convenient excuse. She had spent a great deal of time with M'naago and had established a stong, permanent relationship. This prompted them to agree to go together, and they would act as mentors to the young Wuk Lamat in her trials. Ryune found the Endless to be a gross mockery of life and a waste of resources given their purpose, and had no qualms of shutting all that down. Sphene was not the person she should have been, and Ryune knew it having seen the past living self in the memories trapped in the digital space. She knew the real Sphene would never have stood for any of this, and found the ordeal very saddening and frustrating, as it stemmed from a twisted version of her own fears in its own way. She feared loss, but had grown past it into living for the present with those she had, whereas the people here refused to even acknowledge loss at all for fear of the pain. Getting that sorted is a work in progress.

M'naago is her life Partner. Had a physical relationship with Thancred that faded over time, and a tentative one with G'raha.

Ryune's original hair color is dark brown and she used to keep it short, but changed it to help throw off any Brass Blades who might still want her for murder. She also is not immune to tassels. X'rhun Tia is her Uncle!
